An Impossible Yet Poetic Reality
Carlos Masoch was born in Buenos Aires in 1953.Masoch’s work is oriented towards the representation of images that cannotbe accounted for, but presented to us as if they were part of everyday life;depicting events, people, landscapes and memories in an unusual manner.Small paintings, tiny figures, and a dark palette, in which the grayishgreens prevail, are predominant characteristics of his paintings. The thickpictorial matter and the sensitive lines of his drawing are also recurringelements. Many of Masoch’s paintings have a strong, yet questionable, narrative, they are snapshots of the impossible, where everything isdepicted with pretended clumsiness, hesitant lines, creating pictures whichevoke mysterious events.
